Alicia Barr
I received my Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Arizona State University in 2001. I began teaching at South Plains College, a community college in West Texas, the same year. South Plains College is first and foremost a teaching college, and all instructors and professors are expected to teach a course load of 5 classes per semester. Moreover, South Plains College does not have an IRB. Consequently, I do not have an opportunity to conduct research (except through collaboration with others), so I very much miss the excitement of dreaming up and executing research endeavors. My main reason for joining SPN is to stay abreast of current research in social psychology.
